Ron Bailey

Elder / Congregational Chairman

Ron Bailey, and his wife June, have been members of Colonial Point Christian Church since 2002. They currently live in Marlborough, CT.

Ron served as a member of CPCC's Partnership Team from 2004-2005 and began serving as an Elder in 2006. Ron is also a part of the Worship Support Team and on occassion can be seen playing the drums during a worship service. Ron has played many roles in the life of CPCC.

Ron is a Senior Manager at Aetna Life and Casualty. Previously, he was employed by Bank of America where he had spent 19 years in the Banking industry. In his "spare" time Ron owns and runs a Wild Birds Unlimited franchise in Glastonbury, CT. Alongside his children and grandchildren, Ron's passion is to serve God in any capacity that God leads him to serve.

Mike Houle

Elder / Vice Chairman of the Congregation

Michael has been actively involved with CPCC since the very first service in March of 2000. Michael served as the CT state director for The Fellowship of Christian Athletes from 2000-2003. He then came on staff with CPCC as an associate minister from 2004-2007. Michael entered into his role of Elder in January 2009. Michael now owns and operates KineticHOPE LLC, a fitness, nutrition and wellness company.

Colonial Point has been his home for the past 10 years. " I have always loved that CPCC has been a place that extends grace to all. I’ve seen so many lives changed over the past 10 years, and it has been a blessing to be a part of it all."

Michael is married to Jill and has 3 children, Sophia, Nicolas, Elias, and a 4th child on the way! “They are not only my family, but also my hobby! I just love spending time with them whenever I get a chance. I also love to run, it’s my favorite way to spend time with God!”

Dave Johnson

Elder / Lead Minister

Dave Johnson is the Lead Minister and founding Minister of Colonial Point Christian Church. Dave attended Lincoln Christian College and Seminary where he received a degree in Bible and Preaching. When he had abundant energy he served as a Minister to youth and during a period of insanity as a Licensed Health Facilities Administrator before answering the call to start CPCC.

Dave is married to Sharon and has three sons, Alex, Luke and Jonathan. His primary goal in ministry is to continually point people to Jesus Christ through his preaching and teaching. Dave enjoys spending time with family, golf, water sports, playing on the computer and reading autobiographies.

David Phillips

Elder / Congregational Secretary

David has lived in South Windsor most of his life after growing up in Vernon. He has been employed at Hamilton Sundstrand since 1978 where his current position is Production Supervisor. He has been very happily married to his wife Maria since 1979. They have two grown children, Melissa and Jason, a wonderful son-in-law Bill Cannon and three grandchildren.

David, a Christian since 1985, first came to CPCC in 2003 and instantly knew this was to be his final church home. He came the first time alone but since that initial visit he has been joined by his whole family including his grandchildren. He has been active in Prison Ministry in various capacities since 1999, served CPCC in various capacities including years in global missions, as a greeter and offering counter. David began his service as an Elder in 2008. His strongest outside interests are his family, the NY Yankees, movies and walking.

Jim Purcell

Elder

Jim Purcell grew up in Albany, New York. While in college, he met his wife, Sherry. After college, he spent 5 years as a Signal Officer for the United States Army, taking the Purcell family to many parts of the country. Jim and Sherry have four Children: Nicole, Patrick, Dana, and Ryan.

The Purcells moved to Connecticut settling in Vernon in 2000 and found Colonial Point in 2002, where they made their spiritual home. Jim grew up a Roman Catholic until he and Sherry joined a Christian Church while living in Pennsylvania. He came to know Christ in 1998 and was baptized in 2003. The Purcells have hosted and led a small group for the last year and it has become like a family to them. Jim has been actively involved with the Men’s Ministry at CPCC.

Jim is currently employed by U.S. Tsubaki in Holyoke, MA, acting as Materials Manager. Jim looks forward to the growth of Colonial Point Christian Church and serving God and the church family as an Elder.
